A Bit About Me
SSG Carlos Madrid, born on April 3, 1992, in Phoenix, Arizona, is a distinguished service member of the United States Army. With a strong foundation of support from his loving parents and four siblings, he embarked on his military journey after completing high school in 2011. Enlisting from Scottsdale, Arizona, SSG Madrid began his career with basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in November 2011.
As a 25H, Network Systems Operator Maintainer, SSG Madrid has excelled in multiple assignments across the globe. His early career included service at Fort Gordon, Georgia, followed by deployment to Baumholder, Germany, with the 504th BSC, 16th Sustainment Brigade, supporting missions throughout Europe and West Africa. He further distinguished himself during assignments with B Co 442D SIG BN, 15th SIG BDE Support Platoon, and later deployed to Afghanistan in 2021 to assist with the withdrawal of U.S. and coalition forces. SSG Madrid also led support for Bright Star 21 in Egypt and deployed to Hohenfels, Germany, in 2022 with 3ID, 1ABCT, HHC.
SSG Madrid is happily married to Nicole Michelle Madrid, and the couple is eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first daughter in February 2025. Together, they share a love for animals, with two dogs, two parakeets, and a cat as part of their family. Both are pursuing bachelor’s degrees in psychology, demonstrating their shared commitment to personal and professional growth.
After visiting 24 countries, SSG Madrid is focused on completing his military career with 14 years of service and transitioning into the IT industry. He is currently Security+ and CCNA certified, with short-term goals to earn his Cloud+ and Linux certifications, positioning himself as a cyber defender.
Looking to the future, SSG Madrid plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia Southern University, launch a podcast channel, and become a commercial real estate developer. His ultimate aspiration is to support communities in Savannah and Augusta, Georgia, by addressing homelessness and providing resources to those in need.
In his free time, SSG Madrid enjoys home remodeling, automotive restoration, and woodworking, creating custom furniture pieces. He cherishes outdoor adventures with his wife and their dogs and looks forward to including their daughter in their family walks.
